The Indoor Chuckie Comp proved successful (very successful: please can we have another one? – Ed). I’ve included a report elsewhere in the mag.

A few problems with our mower recently have made collecting the cut grass impossible. Fortunately the weather has been rather dry, hence, collection not necessary. We’ll have it back soon from SPG Mowers who are a local company to our field.

Yes, our mower is now 3 years old!

The Friday Night Challenge evenings at Stanpit have suffered from poor weather and many have been cancelled on safety ground and common sense!

Monthly Club Meetings:

Sept is the Annual Construction & Finish Comp.

Oct is our 1st photo comp.

Nov we have the Annual Auction.

Dec is the AGM.

Jan 2020 is our annual quiz.

Rosebowl Annual Thermal Glider Comp

Hosted by Wessex Soaring Association.

Sunday 30th June 2019

CD: Terry Antell

This year it was decided that everybody flies as individuals, not representing any club as most below to C&DMFC and WSA.

6 entering the 2.3 Class, only 4 entries for the Open Class.

We were in field 13 this year on a lovely day. Yes, we were lucky as June had NOT been “flaming.”

In the 2.3 metre class Doug Bowman, Alan Butterworth and Alex Bush had quite a good contest between them as the results show.

In the Open class Martin Burr only made 4 flights, remember, one flight per round, if a second flight is taken that’s the one that counts. Martin only had one second flight and improved his score. I used all 6 flights on 2 of the 3 I had worse results on the second (scoring) flights.

Bottles of wine were presented to Doug & Alan (2.3 class) and the same presented to Martin & belatedly to Geoff Collins who had to go before the end.

Thanks must go to Doug for getting there early and putting the signage out AND putting it all away after the event.

I have mislaid the Rosebowl Trophy for months (still not found it.)
