BuiltWithNOF

christchurch and district model flying club

Not much copy this time, and I’m afraid this is the thinnest issue since I took over.  Perhaps everyone has taken time off (like me) until the clocks change. But thanks to the indomitable B Leonard Wise and also Peter Wiseman (no relation) we have at least something to read in the darkening evenings. In the printed edition I included a bit about Mr Sopwith and Mr Hawker, just to pad out the pages in the middle, but if you want to see more about the Sopwith Bee in these virtual pages, go to www.sopwithmike.org.uk and have a browse.

Despite the offer of a free ticket to the Hurn Aviation Museum, no-one replied to the Harry Spotters competition last time, so the Club is better off by a tenner. Neither have I had a single email reply to the on-line quiz.

I remember about 6 years ago Trevor Hewson, when he was Editor, gave the members an ultimatum: either write for Sloping Off or lose it.  It’s now my turn to say that. Either fill 10 or 12 double-sided A4 pages every 3 months, or find a new editor.

I’ll give it 12 months.
