Flying at Longham has been approved by formal agreement between the landowners, Sembcorp Bournemouth Water Ltd and the Club. Flying may start from 1 Jan 2012.
Flying will be by Permit only will be managed by Longham Reservoir Model Flying Group (LRMFG) on behalf of the Club. Anyone wanting a permit to fly must first join (or be a member of) the Club.
The Permit application form is here. Permits are free to Club members. Fliers must be BMFA members, and solo flying is restricted to holders of A and above fixed wing certificates. Uncertified fliers may have permits but must be supervised when flying.
The Reservoir is located at BH22 9AB and the turning to the Study Centre is on the north side of the A348 Ringwood Road about half a mile south of the Longham double roundabout junction B3073/A348. There is a white house on the south side of the road which has a large collie dog sign on its wall. The turning is opposite this house.
The site is open every day from 0800 to one hour after sunset. There is no restriction on public access (although parking is restricted to permit holders such as LRMFG).
