BUILD AND FLY AT THE VILAGE HALL
Our annual “Build and trim a BMFA Dart in 45 minutes” took place in July with four teams competing for the awesome glory of winning the distance and duration tasks.
Here are the teams:
Having built the models, with varying degrees of skill and accuracy, each team member had two flights. The first was a straight line distance and the second was duration, to be flown in a circular pattern, so more trimming was needed between the rounds.
Distance for
The Bodgers: John 11 metres, Roger 19 (!!), Martin 3, total 33 1st place
The Dyno Trio: Edward 10, Mike 12, Doug 6, total 28 2nd
Barry’s Team: Barry 8 metres, Mark 7, Brian 7 total 22 equal third
The Hellcats: Richard 10 metres, Jon 6, Frank 6, total 22 equal third
And Duration in seconds (seemingly much harder)
Bodgers: John 3, Roger 3, Martin 4, total 10 equal 1st
The Trio: Edward 3, Mike 2, Doug 5, total 10 equal 1st
Hellcats: Richard 1, Jon 3, Frank 5, total 8 3rd
Barry’s: Barry 1, Brian 1 and Andy 2, total 4, 4th
So the final results were Bodgers 1st, Dyno Trio 2nd, Hellcats 3rd and Barry’s Team 4th
