Hi to all,
Those that read Mike’s Heads Up will see that we will possibly have a problem at Oldfield with PYO Strawberries in June and July. Be assured the committee is trying to resolve the issues and Mike is doing sterling work on our behalf.
(We have a committee meeting on 18 May to discuss the issue and decide on a course of action - picking will begin some time around the end of June and last 6-8 weeks - Ed)
On less contentious issues the club is in good health with a lot of flying happening at Oldfield and the various slopes. I am not sure what is going on at the lakes. This issue has been kidnapped by David Bicker with some fantastic photos. Thank you, David, and well done. A great evening flying session was organised by Andy Slightham at Calshot and another is in the planning. I do hope we can arrange one near mid-summer as I do not like driving in the dark these days (as don’t a lot of the members it seems).
I hope this fantastic spell of good weather continues although I guess the farmers do not subscribe to that view.
