It is more heat and water resistant than white glue…and can be sanded 2. It fell out of favour due to its susceptibility to attack by bacteria 3. Versions are available that are foam safe…It is stiff but has a low shear strength. 4. Its use requires careful attention to the mixing ratio of the two parts…near perfect joints with very small gaps actually produce weaker bonds 5. The glue squeezed out of the heated nozzle is initially hot enough to burn and even blister skin 6. When exposed to moisture it reacts with the water and this cures the adhesive….and expands as it cures 7. the practice of applying adhesive to both surfaces to be bonded: the surfaces are joined once the solvent evaporates 8. Joints should be tight-fitting and clamped…it is not waterproof and does not adhere well to itsel |
