In the last few months we have had the sad news of the passing of John Macklin. A really nice guy for whom I was proud to be the clubs representative at his funeral. His relatives gave all his aeromodelling kit to the club; thanks to Nick Funnel and Andy Slightham for collecting this and ensuring the procedes were passed to the club. One of the benefits was we obtained a new Picnic Table for Oldfield and I sourced a brass plaque in John’s memory.
Regrettably the fantastic spell of sunny, if a little windy weather, has passed and we are now into more normal climes. Oldfield has been very well used during this unexpected weather.
The club seems to be progressing – lets keep it that way.
