Summer Thermal Series
Last year's attempt to run this comp was unsuccessful mainly due to the flying venue being changed to Kings Park. You will note a few changes in this year's rules but please let me know if you can think of anything else to get more members taking part.

Rules
1. Any type of glider may be used and it may be changed throughout the series.
2. Launching will be by bungee or towline and there is no restriction on length.
3. There is no spot landing requirement but, in the interests of safety, the model must land in the area in which it was launched, avoiding car parks, roads, houses and special features such as the sea cadet area and football ground.
4. All flights must take place after 6pm on any Friday evening. Any number of attempts may be made either at Stanpit or Kings Park.
5. Flight maximums will be May 6mins, June 7mins, July 8mins, August 9mins and September 10mins. There is no penalty for overflying the maximum.
6. Timekeeping is to be carried out by another member of the C&DMFC and must start from the model's release from the tow.
7. Details of your best flight each month to be handed to a committee member with the following details:- Name, date, launch time, flight time, model and timekeeper.
8. The sum of all your best four monthly times will be used to determine the winners in the following categories:
i) Best Overall performance
ii) Best Junior member.
Safety must be observed at all times, especially with regard to the general public and other models. Make sure you know where the flight line is situated.
