Sloping Off - December 2005

Editorial

My apologies for not getting this magazine out on time, but I don’t take responsibility for it being so thin - that’s up to YOU, Mr Reader and Club Person.  If you want to have more text and photographs, then copy the Terrys, Trevor and the few and please write about this wonderful hobby!

It’s very pleasant when one’s expectations are exceeded by what actually happens.  Take the case of my Ripmax ProPeak Prodigy battery charger, which I took to Calshot the other evening only to discover that when I connected it up, the screen was blank!  After suspecting my new 12V, trying Trevor’s and then giving up, I emailed Ripmax to ask if there was anything I should be doing (like taking the back off).  By return I had a reply asking me to send them the charger and just a few days later they sent me a new one (actually the Prodigy MkII) - completely free of charge!

At the very least I expected to pay for repairs (I think I managed to short the dead one in the depths of my carry-box, against all the instructions in the guide, so it was all my fault).  Well done Ripmax, and John at Channel 4 for selling me it in the first place.
